Hotel Indigo Cardiff by IHG

Parking is the one real downside. The hotel is on a pedestrianised high street, so the car park isn't close and you have a fairly long walk with luggage. Good to know before arriving. Inside, the design is modern and thoughtful without feeling overdone, and the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well laid out, with small details that made the stay feel easy rather than generic. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout, and check-in was smooth. Even in a busy central spot, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming. Hotel Indigo Cardiff by IHG gave us a genuinely great stay, with personality and consistency. I'd happily return and recommend it.

The city-centre location was great, though it was noisy outside. Once inside, it was quiet, with no noise from people walking past the rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were very large, the shower was a delight, and staff were polite and helpful. It was an amazing hotel and very good value too.

The rooms were spotless and quiet all night, with a really powerful shower and a queen size bed that was incredibly comfortable. We brought our teenage daughters and booked two rooms for one night while seeing Lewis Capaldi at the Utilita Arena. From start to finish, the hotel was fantastic: tastefully done bedrooms, a great location in the heart of Cardiff, and everything within easy walking distance. Breakfast on the sixth floor was great, and the smiley young woman serving on Sunday morning was lovely. Reception and bar staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We've stayed in lots of hotels, and this one was fab. We'll definitely be back. Please let the staff know how great they were.

We loved Cardiff and enjoyed staying here for three nights in a Twin Standard room. It was easily the best value of our four UK hotels, and we can recommend it. The room was spacious, probably because it had two twin beds rather than two queens. The bathroom was attractive, with nice tiling. I think the room had “Made in Wales” décor, which contrasted nicely with the industrial elevator landing and hallways. The walls felt a little bare, and we really didn't like the frosted glass windows facing a covered light shaft. It made us feel a bit like we were on a spaceship, and we couldn't check the highly variable weather in the morning. The location is excellent, close to shopping, pubs, the castle, and the train stations. Breakfast was typical for UK hotels and served in the sixth-floor restaurant/bar, where service was always friendly and efficient.
