Royal Hotel Cardiff by Belvilla

The breakfast had loads to choose from and tasted lovely, though the coffee was bitter. Getting around was easy: we parked at NCP Westgate, found it without trouble, and the discount code was a nice extra. The hotel sits right on the main strip for bars, with Utilita Stadium about a 10-15 minute walk away. We were in room 413, opposite Spoons, and heard nothing. Check-in was quick and the welcome was warm; we also used the drinks voucher to sit at the bar and watch the street for a while, which we don't usually do. The room was fine, with a comfy bed and decent-sized bathroom, but the laminate floor felt sticky. We'd happily return.

The beds were really comfortable, and we had no trouble enjoying a hot soak in the bath. The room itself was beyond amazing, and the staff were kind. It was easy to get to nearby places and events, and the receipt emails included plenty of useful information. We stayed here before and had a wonderful time, and we'll come back again.

I expected a room without windows to feel strange, but it turned out to be really cozy. The hotel is well placed for getting around, with the train and bus stations a short walk away, the bay a short bus ride away, and the rest of the city centre within walking distance.

I always book this hotel when I'm in Cardiff. The rates are very reasonable, and the staff make you feel welcome. Rooms are spacious, and the beds are especially cosy and comfortable. A fantastic spot right in the heart of the city centre.
