For £75, getting the family room for Friday night felt like a real bargain. It was roomy, the beds were comfortable, and there was a good-sized en suite bathroom, with tea and coffee supplied. The staff were so friendly. Buses into the city centre stop both right outside to the right and across the road. I’ll definitely come back.

The staff were especially kind when I realised I’d left my phone behind after checking out. I called, they secured it in a room, and handed it back with a warm smile when I returned. Breakfast wasn’t available during my stay because of some issues, but everyone was very polite and helpful. It’s a converted house, so the hotel can be easy to miss among the homes, and you reach the parking through a narrow lane at the back. The bus stop right outside is handy if, like me, you’re travelling without a car. It closes at about 9 PM and opens again around 8 AM. A cozy, affordable choice for a short stay in Wales. I found it comfortable and well located, and would recommend it for a quick trip or for backpackers.

Everything was spotless, both the toilet and bathroom, and there wasn’t a thing I could fault. We were greeted so warmly when we arrived. The rooms were neat and clean, with towels and slippers laid out on the beds. Some family stayed at a Travelodge, and it looked like they’d drawn the short straw.

The host was polite and helpful, and the room was modern and very clean. Our en suite had a good hot shower, and there were also plenty of bathrooms and toilets on each floor for rooms without one. The bed was comfortable, with a fan, lots of TV channels, and tea and coffee provided. There’s free off-street parking round the back, and the main bus route goes straight into the city centre. It’s a good budget base near Cardiff centre. There’s no breakfast, but plenty of cafes nearby, about a 10 or 15 minute walk according to Google Maps. You can hear some road noise, though it didn’t bother us much. A great place to stay.
