We’ve just had a lovely midweek stay at Plato's, and the vegan meals were a real highlight. They weren’t listed on the menus, but when we asked before booking, we were assured they could cater for us. The food turned out to be outstanding, some of the best we’ve ever had. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable too, and every staff member was welcoming and helpful. I can’t think of anything that would have improved the stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back and would recommend it wholeheartedly. ❤️

Even with January rain, our break at Plato's was just right. The walk through Kirkby and along the river was so picturesque, and the staff made me feel like part of the family. The food was delicious as well. I’d highly recommend staying here, and I’m already thinking about a return visit.

Our rather large dog was no problem at all, and the staff made us feel completely welcome. We had a wonderful stay over New Year and everyone was so kind and helpful. We’re looking forward to going back later this month. Thanks a million, Nathan, Kerry and Henry Dog 🐶

The one problem we noticed was a crack and small hole in the bathroom window in room No: 5. We let management know, so hopefully it was fixed before the next guests arrived. Apart from that, we enjoyed our overnight stay in November. The staff were friendly and professional, breakfast was good, and the location was ideal for exploring the village.

Our first time staying at Plato's, though we’ve eaten and drunk here plenty over the years and remember when it opened. We’re regular visitors to Kirkby Lonsdale, often two or three times a year for walking and the December festivities. The room was very comfortable and looked out over Mill Brow. We also enjoyed the service and the real ales, including a Windermere Pale, Collie Wobbles at 3.7% for me, and a Wainwright Gold on handpump. Flatric was visiting for the first time, while Madge is a regular.
