Hues - Castle Cary

Our whole group was impressed with the three lovely apartments. There were thoughtful touches everywhere, including separate hand towels, plenty of good toiletries, fresh milk and biscuits, plus a nice range of tea and coffee. Thanks, Hues.

From arrival, they leave you to yourself, which is just how I like it. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bed is comfy and the rain shower is amazing. It’s a lovely place to stay, though the rooms aren’t as soundproof as advertised.

Louise was a pleasure to deal with, and booking was easy. She replied quickly to all my questions. The Hues has three large rooms with great en-suites, plus a shared kitchen and courtyard garden. It’s spotless and in a handy location. There’s no parking at the property, but the free car park is only a short walk away, so drop off bulky bags first. Cooking is limited to the microwave, so no fry-ups or toast, probably because smoke alarms can be awkward in a shared place. The garden is being redesigned for spring and should be a lovely spot once it’s done. Smokers, please put your butts in the pot provided, not in the planters or on the patio, for the sake of the next guests and the owners. Any issues? Not really. I’d recommend The Hues without hesitation, 5/5.
