Downhill Beachhouse

The hosts were so friendly, and communication was clear and professional throughout. We brought four households together at Downhill, with plenty of space for our group of 9 adults and 7 children. We could all eat together at the two large dining tables, and the well-equipped kitchen made cooking for everyone easy, with lots of fridge and prep space. Having three sinks and a dishwasher helped with the washing up. We spent our days on the beach or in the garden, and the beach is unbeatable for closeness. Highly recommended!

Downhill is a lovely open beach, with parking right on the shore. The waves are great for kids to bodyboard in, and the water stays shallow enough for paddling.

The setting and house are beautiful, with spacious en-suite rooms, good heating, a well-equipped kitchen and all the amenities we needed. The seascape views and beach walks are right outside. The location is hard to beat, beside a National Trust estate and lovely Castlerock, with Coleraine nearby for supplies.

Being able to walk along Downhill Beach before breakfast was lovely, with the sea so close. The Beach House has comfortable accommodation, recently refurbished en-suite bedrooms, good cooking facilities and cosy sitting areas. The hosts were pleasant and helpful. We’ve just returned from another great stay on the ‘Space to Write’ Project. It’s ideal for groups, friends and family.
