We stayed in May 2025 and were delighted by how comfortable Folly View was. The cottage is beautifully furnished, with thoughtful little touches throughout, plus the small gifts waiting when we arrived were much appreciated. It's a great place to stay with a dog: our Bernese was happy there, we enjoyed plenty of walks and sightseeing together, and the beaches we visited allowed dogs. The cottage and surrounding area suited us so well that we plan to return to Folly View for a longer holiday in 2026. Alnwick has the shops you'd need while on holiday, and the nearby pubs are lovely to visit with a dog. We can confirm the other reports about the cottage and landlords are true.

The host was really friendly and easy to reach, and we'll definitely return. There are lots of lovely walks and places to visit nearby, and the cottage is just a short distance from Windermere lake, with beautiful woodland all around. It had everything for a proper home from home stay, including comfy beds, good sized rooms and every kitchen utensil we needed. Thank you for a great visit.

The views from the front door are beautiful, with Lamas in the paddock right in front. Folly View is a really quiet place, set away from Alnwick with just a few neighbours. Inside, it's comfortable and very well equipped, with a super king size bed. The bathroom has underfloor heating, there's a log burner in the lounge, and the kitchen includes a washing machine and dishwasher. We had a lovely holiday and fell in love with the area.

We enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, the great views and the walks right from the cottage. The garden is secure and dog friendly, and there was plenty of local information. Towns, the coast and countryside are all easy to reach, and the cottage was well equipped despite the covid restrictions. We'd definitely stay again. (10/7/21 to 17/7/21)
