I only ended up here because the Airbnb options I wanted were already booked, even though there were better places at about the same price. The stay itself was one of my worst. The owners turned the heating off overnight, and I woke up cold, shivering, with a sore throat and what felt like the start of a cold. The whole place felt cheap.

The hosts were really nice, but the room was cold, the shower worked unpredictably, and we were right beside a busy road. Being so close to Manchester airport could suit someone catching a flight the next day for just one night, but I wouldn't recommend it for much else.

We booked for one night around our flights from Manchester airport. The guesthouse has parking at a fair rate for the length of your trip, not only for the overnight stay. It felt welcoming, and we slept comfortably in a good bed. The hosts were lovely.

For the price, this was good value. I had a private room with its own bathroom, and although everything was basic, it was comfortable. The owner was very hospitable, and breakfast was solid too. Just a one-night stay for me.

We booked two family rooms and were told on arrival that the children could sleep on the floor on top of a duvet. That was completely unacceptable, and when we raised it, the owner was very rude, basically telling us to take it or leave it. There was no en suite either. The worst B&B stay I've had. Avoid.
