I was on my own, so it felt a little pricey for me, though it would be excellent value for a family. The house and garden are lovely, with a private car park that gets locked after 10pm, and it’s in a quiet residential area. Our large family room had a comfortable bed and a small en-suite bathroom, though the shower could have been better. The landlady was very pleasant and breakfast was enjoyable. Five stars.

The owner was really helpful with local information, and all the staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice in the contemporary dining room. We enjoyed our two-night stay, with Chester about a 15-minute walk away. If you have a few hours free, try the health club on Northgate Road. We got guest membership for the day and used the pool and spa.

A very friendly host and a lovely breakfast. The bedroom was large and worked well for a family. It’s ideally situated just outside Chester, about ten minutes from the zoo.

DO NOT BOOK. I booked directly and gave my card details for a room for three, but when we arrived she said there was no booking in our name. She’d clearly given our room to a group of four for more money. After travelling, we were left stranded with nowhere to stay, and she seemed to find it funny. Rude, unreliable and a waste of time.

The house was lovely, and the room was clean and comfortable. They were very helpful, and the breakfast room was nice too. Breakfast was good, and it only took about ten minutes to walk into Chester.
