This is much better value than the big hotel chains, and I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area. It’s a lovely old traditional guest house, with wonky floors and door frames, but it’s well kept. Breakfast was very good, with quality ingredients cooked well. There’s also a nice little bar tucked beside the main seating area.

After a long day at the zoo, the family room was great to come back to. The beds were comfortable and a decent size. Breakfast had a good range of choices, all served on hot plates. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.

Sarah and John were perfect hosts, so welcoming. We arrived early and Sarah kindly offered us refreshments, including a delicious freshly baked scone. Breakfast was hot and tasty, a great start to the day. We had a fabulous stay in this lovely, quirky B&B and would definitely recommend it.

We felt warmly welcomed, and so did our children. Everything was just right for a B&B, especially the fantastic breakfast. We’re sorry we couldn’t stay a second night. Glad I booked this instead of one of the usual big chain hotels.

I got in much later than they expected, but they still welcomed me with a sandwich, tea and cakes. The place is only a few minutes from the M56, around a 10-minute drive from central Chester, and there’s even a bus stop close by. It’s a unique historic house with charm and a welcoming feel, a different experience from an everyday hotel. Guests are made to feel at home, the staff are lovely, and the rooms are delightful and well stocked with teas, coffees and more. Recommended.
