Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel

The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were a real treat. They weren't busy, so we could enjoy them properly in the afternoon and again early in the morning. The food was good too. Breakfast came with our room, and the fresh, typical English breakfast was just right. We also had a tasty dinner there. We stayed one night and felt very welcome. The room was clean and had what we needed, and it suited us as a couple travelling with our dog. The hotel is very dog-friendly: reception greeted us with a big smile, and our dog got a friendly pet. It's also close to the city centre. We'd book here again if we're back in Chester.

The rooms are basic, but they did the job, especially for the price. Everyone on staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was included, and they brought out separate GF toast and bacon for me. We enjoyed the clean pool facilities. We were here as a couple with our dog to explore Chester and Liverpool, and had no complaints.

Akash at reception deserves a mention. He was so friendly and helpful, and his enthusiasm for the job really showed. He went out of his way for guests and always had a smile, which made a difference to our stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a short visit. The leisure area was tidy as well, and the pool was lovely and warm, just right for unwinding. I had a really pleasant stay and would definitely come back.

Laura welcomed us at reception as soon as we arrived and made us feel at home. She checked us into our Privilege room, showed us where everything was and explained the opening hours. She also told us about the restaurant deals, so we booked a two-course dinner that evening. The meal was very nice, and the restaurant staff were polite and friendly. We stayed for two nights. The room was lovely and clean, with tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, iron and ironing board, docking station, robes and slippers. We enjoyed the pool and spa, and it was only a short drive into Chester town centre. I'd stay here again. Thanks.
