I’ve had a positive first year at Trinity Hall and have already rebooked for next year. It’s convenient for the many university campuses, close to transport and easy to get into the centre of Chester. The management team sorted out any problems I had during the year promptly. Katie from the management team recently put on a pizza party, which gave residents a chance to meet each other and have a good evening. I’m looking forward to my next year at Trinity!

The laundry machines have been out of order for more than seven months, there was no building manager, and for weeks we had neither hot water nor heating or a kitchen. Rent was still expected while we were living in those poor conditions. Staff came into my room while I was showering, and other people seemed able to come and go with room keys. On some occasions, others left my door on the latch. There was no useful support or way to contact anyone about the many problems. Prices seemed reasonable at first, but when I tried to rebook for the following year they had gone up, and I learned other students paid much less because of their connections with staff. Save your time, energy, and money, and look elsewhere.

I’m in my second year here and have loved living at this accommodation. Last Friday, management put on an event in reception with Papa Johns pizza, sweets, pop, raffles, and more. It was a lovely way to meet other students in the building, and to chat with management and get to know the people behind the place.

Water leaks through the ceiling, and other house problems just get ignored. The laundry setup has been completely broken since last year, with no attempt to fix it, and there hasn’t been a manager for a year. The company doesn’t read or answer emails about the issues. The one person who really cared about the students and the accommodation left because of the company. Please don’t book here. It’s been the worst experience.

The location works really well, right by the train station and opposite the bus interchange. There’s no lift, which is a pain when carrying bags upstairs, but that’s my only real downside. I’ve always been able to get help from the site manager, Alison, who’s lovely, and repairs are usually sorted within a week. The place feels flexible and lively. There are plenty of fridges, so even with lots of people sharing a kitchen I had room for my food, and there’s a TV in the kitchen too. The kitchens can be untidy, but that’s down to the students who use them and everyone’s responsibility to clean up. I’ve never had trouble with the laundry machines, unlike stories I’ve heard about other accommodation.
