Chichester Park Hotel

We’ve stayed before and I’d happily recommend the Chichester Park Hotel. From arriving for Easter weekend through to checking out, the service was excellent, with very efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast was cooked perfectly, and the buffet for our birthday celebration in the function room was faultless too.

I was there for work for a week. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were really helpful. After long workdays, room service was convenient, though a bit pricey. Breakfast had a good selection, and there’s also a bar serving the restaurant’s food if you prefer somewhere less formal. The room’s spotlights were too bright for reading, so I bought a little lamp from dunhelm across the road for the week. It was also so hot that I picked up a small fan. My one real complaint was a sewage smell from the newly renovated bathroom in Room 124. I couldn’t leave the door open all week, and the smell got pretty strong in the evenings. There seemed to be a little leakage around the seal where the toilet was fitted to the floor.

A nice, cosy place, very clean and comfortable. We were a big family group for the weekend, and the whole team was hospitable. Dean and his dad were especially kind to us. The staff were really nice and helpful, and we loved the pool and jacuzzi. I’d recommend it and would definitely visit again.

The pool was a little gem, and the hotel was clean and friendly. For a three star place, it’s a great example of cleanliness, good service and welcoming staff. Nothing felt like too much trouble, from topping up our bottles most days to putting ice cream in the fridge. We stayed three nights and I was pleasantly surprised. Relaxed and just right, with nothing bad to say. The location worked well for visiting Portsmouth, as we did, and next time we’ll probably stay longer. Breakfast was outstanding, with fried options as well as fresh quality fruit and little pastries. The decaf was cool, and I had a big cafetiere each morning. All in all, a great choice!
