The staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful, and the food had both great choice and quality. All thirteen of us had a fantastic time during our overnight get-together with university friends and partners, celebrating significant birthdays for three of us. The property is in a great location and beautifully appointed, from the bedrooms to the restaurant and bar. We all agreed we'd return in a flash and do it again.

We were lucky to get a table for lunch after dropping into The Kings Head Inn on the off chance. My husband chose the regular fish and chips and devoured it. I had the Chicory and pear salad with chips, and really enjoyed the crunchy Chicory, sweet pear, sharp blue cheese and balsamic dressing. The chips were crisp and moreish, and I was assured their fryer is used only for non gluten food. Staff knew their gluten free options well, with a few dishes available, though most were fish, which I'm not keen on. The meal was very good, and the pub is in a lovely area. The weather wasn't great, but the surroundings were still pleasing.

The room was cosy, clean and comfortable, and we felt welcome throughout. Staff were friendly and attentive without fuss. It's a lovely country pub with a proper rural feel, and the food was excellent. A really nice place to stay a night, or two for a quiet Cotswolds break in an idyllic setting. We'd highly recommend it.

The Sunday roast is especially good, and save some space for the sticky toffee pudding. This is a proper pub in the best sense, cosy and relaxed, with lovely staff who make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. If you're nearby and want a break from the Daylesford effect, come here. Warm, unfussy and exactly what a local pub should be.

The lunch itself was fine, but the experience was spoilt by the women's toilets. They're the smallest I've seen, with a sizeable step and no handrail. Anyone over size 14 would struggle to use them. Beware.
