Parr Hall Farm Bed and Breakfast

The owners’ attitude overshadowed everything else. Check-in felt cold, as if we were a nuisance, and when we returned from an event nearby and ordered food, we were all sitting together talking. The walls are very thin, so a noise complaint followed. My partner and his friend opened the door to find the owners outside, listening without knocking or announcing themselves. They threatened to call the police and have us removed, even though we apologized and quieted down straight away. The next morning, one owner asked another guest in front of my friend, “Did these lot keep you up as well?” It made him feel singled out and embarrassed. As we left, they slammed the door on us, which felt hostile and unnecessary. The rooms were clean and well stocked, and the property had potential, but the furniture was very dated and the mattresses were incredibly uncomfortable. Overall, a disappointing stay with unprofessional owners.

The hostess was so kind and pleasant, and her hospitality made our stay feel special. My husband and I spent two nights here and were delighted with the whole experience. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm. Our room was spotless, modern, quiet, and neatly arranged, with everything we needed to feel at home. Its location worked perfectly for the places we were visiting, and the atmosphere and welcome are hard to find elsewhere. Highly recommended.

The owner was lovely, and breakfast was included and really nice. Everything was spotlessly clean. There’s a local pub nearby with real ales and good food. A great place to stay, and I’ll come back.

We were in the area over the weekend for LSME at Worden Park, travelling with other rail enthusiasts from Scotland. The rooms were superb and spotless, and there was ample parking for our trailers, vans, and cars. The bar and restaurant across the road became our watering hole for the weekend. We’ve booked again for later this year.
