Hazler Lodge

We only had one night, and I wish we’d been able to stay longer and enjoy everything on offer. It was just right for a couple, with even more space than we needed, and the bed was super comfy.

The lodge was lovely and very clean, with a really comfortable bed and a more than generous breakfast. Bridget had thought of so many useful little things, like the outdoor cushions and umbrella. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the lovely area.

There’s plenty of parking, and the room has its own outdoor patio table with two chairs. It was clean, comfortable and nicely presented, with lots of thoughtful extras. A small fridge held milk and water, and there was a selection of teas and coffees, wine glasses, tumblers and good sized mugs.

Bridget and Chris were easygoing, friendly and helpful hosts, and we’d both recommend Hazler Lodge to anyone visiting Church Stretton. The enclosed garden and patio with a table and chairs were for our private use. Our lodge was well equipped, with breakfast, drinks and toiletries provided, plus a spacious bedroom with a king size bed, or possibly super king size. The bathroom was nice too. Town is about a 15 minute walk away. It’s uphill on the way back, though that felt fine after an evening in Church Stretton’s lovely pubs and eateries. Hazler Lodge is well placed for walking to Caer Caradoc. It was incredibly warm while we were there, so we couldn’t do as much walking as planned, which was a shame. We did manage a late afternoon walk to the Gaer Stone and across Bowdler Hill to Hope Bowdler. The walk starts very close to the lodge, and you can be up on Bowdler Hill in about 15 minutes. There’s ample parking too. We hope to return soon.
