The fish pie with veg was so fresh and delicious, and the portion was just right. Our family also enjoyed the burgers, chicken and kids pizza. The food was outstanding and good value, and we felt our custom was appreciated. The place was busy, but the service stayed friendly and professional. Max and team made us feel welcome from the moment we came in, and the room was warm, cosy, clean, comfortable and full of character, with plenty of space between tables. There were lots of menu choices and specials. I especially appreciated the waitress taking part of our drinks order, then coming back to ask the person who'd stepped away what she wanted when she returned. That kind of attention matters. The atmosphere was uplifting, and we'll be back soon.

We dropped in on Friday for drinks and a catch-up with friends. Edmund and his team gave us a warm welcome, and the pub has a great character. There’s a good range of beers and a really impressive whisky selection. I think it’s the second largest in the UK. I’d definitely recommend it.

The service was excellent, and we couldn’t fault the meal. The prawns were big, plump and juicy, the garlic mushroom starter was tasty, and the garlic bread with it may be the best we’ve ever had. The fish was soft and fresh. Everything was cooked perfectly with excellent ingredients, and the starters were huge. We ate here this evening and it’s one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. It’s now our first choice when we eat out.

Ed made dinner and drinks work for more than 40 of us staying in and around Waddington. We were here the night before our wedding, and the cottage was perfect for me and the groomsmen. Fantastic pub, highly recommend.

Whisky, whiskey and bourbon fans should make a point of coming here. The floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall cabinet upstairs is spectacular, and the proprietor is rightly proud of the collection. He’ll happily choose something to suit your palate. The beers were in pristine condition too. I ate here a couple of times and the food was very good, with excellent service. I was really well looked after, the kind of old-fashioned hospitality you don’t often find. The Coach House room was quiet and spacious for me and my dog, with a comfortable bed and en suite facilities. The location is great, just off the village road, with the historic church up the road. One thing to know: there’s no cooked breakfast. Instead, you get a basket of goodies in your room, along with tea and Nespresso. That suited me, as a cooked breakfast feels a bit heavy anyway. Highly recommended.
