The breakfast at the pub next door was a real highlight. It was £11 per adult and kids ate free, with a buffet covering a full English, pancakes, pastries, fresh juices, tea and coffee. The staff kept the food area spotless and checked that we had everything. We were really impressed by the high standard and the scenic view from the front patio. We'd come to be between Thorpe park and Chessington world of adventures, and this hotel was about 20 minutes from each, so it worked perfectly. Our family room had a double and two single beds. The double mattress was incredibly comfy and we slept well. Everything was very clean. One day we left the cleaning sign on, but although the room was done, the dirty towels weren't taken and no fresh ones were left. Reception sorted it quickly and gave us towels straight away. It's an old building, so expect single-glazed windows that can get a bit watery. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. On our first day, the maintenance guy even asked if we had any room issues or needed anything, which was lovely, though we didn't. We travel a lot and have stayed in plenty of Premier Inns, Holiday Inns and Travel Lodges. This was a great little find, and we'll definitely come back for the theme parks. I might even invest in one of their mattresses!

Breakfast is next door at the Fairmile inn. The space is rented by premier to serve breakfast, so this isn't really a comment about them. There was a decent spread of pastries, jams, fresh coffee, cooked English breakfast items, Greek yogurt, fruit and cereals. My husband had the breakfast, but it was cold when it arrived. We ate as soon as it opened at 8 am, so perhaps that's why. If we came back, I probably wouldn't pay for it again and would go elsewhere. I like my food piping hot when served. The hotel is nicely set back in pleasant grounds, and disabled parking was available. The paths and kerbs need attention, though, as they were difficult to navigate safely if you're unsteady on your feet. We had a good ground-floor room to the left of reception. It could have been dusted before we arrived, though I'm fussy, and the master bed sheet wasn't big enough to stay tucked in. It wrinkled and bothered me when I was trying to sleep. The bathroom was adequate, and the Bayliss and Harding shower gel was a nice bonus.

Free parking and a very quiet location made for a nice place to sleep, and it's well located for us. The walls are thin, though. In the family rooms we could hear lots of other families and their conversations. The room was comfortable and had plenty of space for us, though it could use some updating. It's a basic, simple hotel. We checked in very late after driving down and still got a smile and good service. There's a vending machine in the lobby, plus extra tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar to take. We'd probably stay again if we're in the area.

The location is quiet and the bed was comfy, as usual. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were very good. Our first room's bathroom wasn't clean, so they moved us to an acceptable alternative. Be aware that the accessible rooms still have a shower over the bath, not a wet room. The Premier Inn is very tired and needs refurbishment.

The attached pub does an all-you-can-eat full English breakfast. My room was clean and cosy, and the staff were kind. Recommend.
