Anchor Inn

The breakfast that came with our stay was great, with cooked choices, cereal, toast, fresh coffee, tea, and orange juice. We had a really lovely two nights at this pub. The landlords and staff were welcoming, and our large room was spotless, with a modern ensuite and a great shower. The super king bed was comfortable, and there were fluffy towels, robes, and tea and coffee in the room. The pub menu had plenty of good quality food, generous portions, and an impressive range of homemade pies. Everything worked out so well that we'll definitely return.

We haven't stayed here yet, but after a meal of excellent food in a lovely setting, we've booked a future visit. The staff were really friendly and the service was great.

The owners openly support fox hunting and seem proud of killing defenceless animals. That tells me everything I need to know about this place. It feels disturbing rather than welcoming, and that attitude makes me want no part of the pub. There are plenty of other places that don't celebrate cruelty, so I'd urge people to spend their money elsewhere.

The Anchor was first class across the board. We were impressed by the rooms and bathroom, the location, the staff, and the parking. The food and breakfast were as good as any we've had, even after staying in some amazing places. I can't recommend it highly enough.
