Deneview

We were made to feel like family by Andy and Malcolm in their beautifully maintained home in Consett (Northumberland). George, their canine companion, gave us a wonderfully warm welcome. From our bedroom we had a stunning view, and the bed was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was as good as we'd hoped. If you're staying in the area, Castleneuk Guest House is hard to beat for a friendly B&B.

We were doing the Coast to Coast cycle challenge when we stayed here, and I've already started telling friends about this B&B. The hosts clearly enjoy looking after their guests. On arrival we were offered drinks and biscuits, and the evening menu had lots of great choices. A really amazing place to stay.

The views from the clean, tidy rooms were fantastic, and the breakfast room was just as neat, with lovely garden views and hills in the distance. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay and hope to visit again. Thanks, Andy and Malcolm!

Our dachshund was every bit as welcome as we were, and the nearby pub was dog friendly too. It's quirky, serves well-kept beer, and doesn't do evening food, though Andy and Malcolm do. We felt so at home that we nearly forgot to pay, and the place was great value. We were lucky enough to be the first guests at the newly refurbished Castleneuk guest house under new management. We knew Andy and Malcolm from their previous place on Skye and cheekily arrived before their official launch on Monday 30th April 2018. They've completely transformed the guest house. It's comfortable, especially the beds, the welcome is warm, and breakfast is awesome. Highly recommended.
