There’s a reasonable choice of beer on tap, though I’d like to see some real ales as well. On our last visit we ate there and tried the two for £20 deal, paying extra for another meal. My mom and I had considered the lasagna, but were told it wasn’t homemade, so we skipped it in case it wasn’t very nice. I had the lovely scampi, some of the best I’ve had, while my mom chose fish and chips and my dad had the burger. All were great, and the chips were lovely. We dropped in a few times while staying in Conwy. It’s a lovely pub with a nice outdoor area, and the staff were friendly. On one of our last visits, we got chatting with some people who lived not too far from us.

The food was fantastic. The main annoyance was having people ordering drinks and food queue together. Separate serving points would help on busy days. There’s a substantial outdoor space, though not many shaded tables when it’s hot.

We went on a rowdy Thursday night during Conwy’s annual Pirate festival, when the Pirates had taken over. Jorvic and Deric would have wished they’d known, since they have pirate gear. The rear beer garden was empty on a miserable June evening. This is a Cask Marque pub with two real ales, St Austel Tribute and Timothy Taylor's. I had the TT Golden Best.

We chose this pub for a family lunch during the school half term and were glad we did. It’s a very clean, traditional place, with standard pub food cooked just right and offered at good value. My wife, the kids and I all felt welcome. A lovely lunch, thank you!
