The roast portions were warned to be large, and they weren't kidding. My heart rate jumped when the platter arrived, but thankfully this was no letdown. It was enormous, and after 30 minutes of relentlessly handling meat, I was done. I'm a snorter when I talk, so it was a real challenge even for me. Thirty minutes is a long time, isn't it? Two is more than enough, right? This was my first step into expanding my flavour horizons, something I promised myself I'd do in 2026, and The Crown of Cookham was a great place to start. It was Sunday, so everyone except one tag along ordered a roast. I like juicy meat, and I've been called “chunky, yet funky” more than once. When we arrived, the staff greeted us with huge smiles. It felt like the paternal affection I've been chasing since 2004. Their kindness and service had me ready to spend irresponsibly. The food was incredible, the staff were wonderful, and I couldn't recommend the place more. Even Gordon Ramsay wouldn't find an idiot sandwich here. 10/10.

We had a Christmas meal catered for a group of 20, and it was fantastic. Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared, and our guests were raving about it all evening. The team handled the organisation and presentation beautifully. Highly recommend the Christmas menu.🎄✨

We stopped in for lunch today, and the portions are really generous. AJ was an absolute star, checking that everything was okay and making sure we had what we needed. We'll be back soon.

The food was excellent: hot, nicely presented, and extremely tasty. We could see the chefs working hard in the open kitchen as they sent out the dishes. We came in on the off chance early Friday evening, and the friendly, helpful, enthusiastic team found us a table and looked after us for a couple of hours. The pub filled up pretty quickly, and now we know why. Well done to everyone. We'll be back.

We met friends here for lunch last weekend and liked it so much we returned a week later. The service and staff were great, and inside felt smart and fresh, with a lovely choice of seating areas. We sat outside in the dip on the grass, which was just perfect. The food was excellent too, from the sandwiches, wraps and flatbreads on the sandwich menu to the fish and chips and burgers.
