We’d happily come back in a heartbeat. Rachel and Dan made us feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. The whole house is comfortable, well furnished and spotless, and I could imagine living there. Our bedroom was spotless too, with the expected facilities, a fridge for the fresh milk supplied each day, water, tea, coffee and biscuits. It’s a lovely, quiet period farmhouse B&B, nicely tucked away from neighbours but still within a 5 to 15 minute drive of local villages for pubs and places to eat. Berwick Upon Tweed is about 20 minutes away, making it a good base for touring Northumberland. We spent three days here, enjoyed the excellent breakfasts, and had a wonderful time. I have high expectations when I travel, and I highly recommend it. The room was well furnished and had all the home comforts. We loved the peaceful setting.

Rachel was so friendly and welcoming, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The poached eggs were beautifully cooked. We’ll definitely make this our go-to place when we visit Northumberland again. Hays Farm is a great find and good value. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, the en-suite was spotless, and the view from our window was stunning. Thoughtful extras included a little fridge, USB ports, a Northumberland parking pass to use, and complimentary Netflix and Disney.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked another night here on the way back. Rachel’s hospitality was kind, and breakfast was the best. I hope to return with my gravel bike and try the local cycling routes. We were looking for somewhere to stop halfway on our long drive up to Orkney, and couldn’t have picked a better place. The country farmhouse was quiet, peaceful, comfortable and relaxing. Rachel and her family gave us a warm welcome, then let us unwind while making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for such a lovely stay.

A lovely base for exploring Northumberland, right near Heatherslaw Mill and the castle. The hosts made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and we’ll definitely return. Our room was pristine with a lovely view, and the house is beautiful and full of character. Breakfast was a highlight too, with plenty of local produce cooked just right. Peaceful, comfortable, and delicious food. I can’t recommend Hay Farm House enough.

Breakfast had a big menu to choose from. I ordered the salmon omelet and liked it so much, especially the golden-coloured eggs, that I had it both mornings. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back next time we’re in the area. Rachel gave us a warm welcome for our two-night stay at Hay Farm House, a beautiful old farmhouse with period details dating back to the 1800s. We stayed in room 2, which had an en-suite, a large bed and a sofa. From the window there were hills, fields and forests in different colours. One evening a Kestrel appeared almost close enough to touch, hovered for several seconds while hunting, then flew off.
