The Northey Arms

We stayed in station house, where the room was clean and spacious. Even though the pub is on a busy road, both it and the rooms were quiet and welcoming. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, and our dog loved all the outdoor space. The staff and other visitors spoiled him, too. Very happy to recommend the place, and hope to return soon.

The cosy furnishings and decor, excellent food and comfortable stay made this a lovely visit. Our room had ambient music playing on the radio when we arrived, and the cafetière and good-quality coffee on the drinks tray were nice touches. The bathroom was epic, and the staff were lovely. There’s a bus stop right outside the pub for getting into Bath and back. We’d love to stay at the Northey again.

We left early and couldn’t have a full breakfast, so we were grateful to take freshly baked pastries and coffees with us. The staff were exceptionally helpful, even checking the bus timetable for us. There’s a local bus stop right outside the pub, which made it easy to get into Bath without worrying about parking. They also let us leave our hire car in the car park for the day. We loved our one-night stay at The Northey Arms. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were so friendly.

Getting into Bath was easy, with several buses stopping right outside the Northey Arms and the return stop there as well. The trip takes around 20 minutes. It’s a great option if you want to visit Bath but stay somewhere peaceful in the countryside. We stayed in the Hazelbury Room for our first hotel trip of the year. The bed was one of the comfiest we’ve had, and the room had a smart TV, a useful desk and plenty of storage. There’s a huge bathroom through what looked like a wardrobe, with a deep tub and a shower. We had dinner at the pub on our first night: the fish and chips had crunchy batter and fluffy chips with tasty curry sauce, and the Chicken Milanese flatbread was a nice lighter option. Breakfast was included, with plenty to choose from. On the first morning we had eggs Benedict and a Bacon Butty, both cooked perfectly, with generous portions and bacon that was on another level. The next day I added a fried egg to my bacon butty, which made it even better, while the other butty was sausage, seasoned well. You can add breakfast items or ask to change the menu. The staff were very helpful, and they make good coffee however you like it.
