The house had a wonderful atmosphere, and I hope I get to return someday. We spent three full days there and kept discovering something new. With our large group, it took a bit of effort to find our way around because the place was enormous. The creaky wooden floors only added to its charm, as I’d expect in such an old building. A beautiful place to spend a holiday.

We had a lovely stay at the Druids, even though the low Google ratings had made us a bit nervous beforehand. The house was tidy and clean, full of quirky character, with rooms arranged in an unusual way. It’s worth checking the floor plan when deciding where everyone will sleep. There are lots of little spaces for socialising, both large and small. The only slight downside for me was that the downstairs bathroom and the bedroom in the annex weren’t as accessible as I’d expected. Maybe I should have asked the owners about that before or when booking. I’d recommend it if you like a house with character and history.

We paid £8000 for 14 nights here for a family holiday, and regret booking it. The house was dusty and full of spiders, with no clothes racks for our things. Flies were everywhere, and the place felt poorly maintained and dirty. At night the noisy wooden floors made it hard to move around without disturbing everyone. There were also too few kitchen tools and everyday essentials for a holiday stay. The hygiene and living conditions fell far short of what we expected. I’d advise people to stay away, even if the price were lower.

The flies were everywhere as soon as I arrived, from the kitchen and living area to the bedroom. I couldn’t relax or prepare food without worrying it might be contaminated. The rest of the property was just as unpleasant. Surfaces were grimy and dusty, the floors felt sticky, and there was a bad smell throughout. The bathroom had mold in the corners, hair in the drain, and stained fixtures. It needs a thorough professional clean before I’d consider recommending it to anyone.

We’d booked the Druids for a family get together in May 2025 and paid a £1,100 deposit. An unexpected family problem meant we couldn’t make those dates, so we asked for the deposit back. That was refused. We then asked for half back, or to move the deposit to another property or date, and were refused again. We’ve now lost £1,100 because of circumstances we didn’t expect. I feel the owner was completely unreasonable and greedy, making an easy £1100 from us. I hope they can rest well knowing how they treated potential customers.
