Travelodge Coventry Binley

I booked one night at Binley Road Coventry a week before my work trip. No email confirmation came through, and I wasn't reminded that I was booked into the Travel lodge, so I mistakenly tried to check in at a competitor's hotel. I ended up paying for an extra night there and forfeiting what I'd paid Travelodge. Fuming!

The receptionist was really friendly, and our double room looked out over a nice pond. It was quiet, clean and warm, with a good price and easy access by car. A little way out from the town centre.

We’ve stayed here with family a couple of times. The rooms felt a bit tired on the first visit, though they were somewhat improved after the recent renovation. I was disappointed by the buffet breakfast, which needs to be better. We were part of several families staying for a wedding, and got complaints about the children being noisy. The heavy door closers make the doors thump, and the kids were talking. It would’ve helped if our rooms had been grouped together somewhere we were less likely to disturb other guests.

The Toby carvery next door is decent, and the rooms were clean. Beds were OK too. They’re pretty basic, but fair enough for what you pay. Breakfast is cold, so bring a toaster if you want it hot, joking! Also, opening the door can be tricky if you’ve had a skinful.
