The staff were kind and helpful, and the rooms are clean and a decent size. They get very warm, though, and the heaters work well. Soundproofing isn’t great, so people walking along the corridor can get pretty loud. There are no locks on the toilets. You can have free tea and coffee in the lounge, but I really wouldn’t eat there. The food is terrible and very overpriced. They took ages to make a frozen burger and fries in the microwave.

It’s in a peaceful area with shops nearby, including Cannon Park. Outside there’s plenty of greenery and a small waterfall feature, which is lovely and quiet. Parking is plentiful and free if you get the code from reception. The hotel feels modern and well maintained, with helpful staff, a comfortable bed, a modern bathroom, plenty of amenities, and a nice coffee machine. There are signs to guide you, though it can be a bit of a walk to the room. Late checkout is free until 12, instead of the usual 10am. My main gripe is the lack of AC. There’s a small metal fan, but my room still got hot at night. With AC it’d be an easy five stars. As it stands, it’s still one of the nicer hotels in West Midlands.

For the price, it was good value. The beds were comfortable, parking was free, and there’s a good bus connection within a 10 minute walk, plus some other places to eat. The room was practical rather than luxurious, but I think two people would find a standard one cramped. I missed having a fridge and being able to set the room temperature myself. Staff were helpful and friendly, apart from at reception.

The room was spacious and clean, the food was amazing, and the staff were great. I stayed for three nights during a training weekend and would definitely recommend the place and come back.
