The Anchor Inn

Saturday night at the anchor was fantastic, with a great DJ and atmosphere. Drinks are well priced too. It gets really busy, though, and sometimes you’re queuing around 10 minutes just to order a round. That’s the price of success, I suppose. Maybe one more person behind the jump during the rush, or even a second bar?

I was travelling on my own for a course and just needed a room for one night before moving into my course accommodation. The staff were friendly, the bathroom was a nice size, and there were two single beds. It’s a decent pub, I felt safe, and I’d stay again.

The food was proper hearty pub grub, served hot in generous portions, and it tasted great. We felt relaxed and looked after the whole time. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the manager, who I think was called Mark, was especially approachable and down to earth. He clearly cares about making people feel at home. We stopped by this lovely little pub in Cowes and had a fantastic visit from start to finish. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, exactly what you hope for in a proper pub. I’d happily recommend it if you’re in Cowes, and I’ll definitely be back.

We had a lovely evening here last week. The food was outstanding, and there was a good choice of drinks. Would definitely recommend.
