The room was lovely and quiet, and I was glad there was a fan in the wardrobe. I appreciated the peace and quiet, as well as the helpful woman on reception. I also liked the bar, though the wine wasn’t very good. I hadn’t realised when I booked that this was a coach holiday hotel. It seems to cater mainly to older people, which does make for a peaceful stay. Breakfast was a letdown after the reviews had made me look forward to it. There was a good range, but the quality was terrible: cheap, nasty sausages, bacon as hard as nails and the cheapest sort of bread for toast. After I’d sat down, I was told I had the wrong table. If tables are assigned, surely guests should be greeted and shown to their seats when they arrive. The breakfast really needs to improve.

We had a very nice three day break with Hattons (coach). The hotel manager and colleagues were very friendly, and the manager was a top man and a great cook. Our room was clean and just right. We enjoyed half price drinks at the bar in the evening and left a £10 donation to be shared out. Many thanks.

My mom had a lovely stay, and the staff were so attentive and helpful, especially after she fell in town. A special thanks to the reception staff, who kept checking in on her.

I’ve stayed at several of Alfa’s hotels, and this one was by far the best. The staff were wonderful and did everything they could for us. I couldn’t find anything to complain about.
