The open fire and the range of good beers, whiskies and decent, unpretentious wines made the bar a real highlight. The staff were lovely, and the welcome was warm. We’d gone in with fairly low expectations, but the food was really good and everything we tried was excellent quality. It isn’t fine dining or Michelin star standard, but it ticked all our boxes.

We spent a pleasant couple of hours in this dog friendly bar. The decor is nice, there’s a good choice of beers and spirits, and the food is good quality for a reasonable price.

The fish is worth trying, and we really enjoyed the food. The beer was great too, and the bar staff were friendly and efficient. It’s a shame Google shows the place as shut all the time, since it opens at 4pm. Maybe we’d have found it sooner if that listing were changed.
