The sea bream was seriously top-notch, and the dining room’s sea view was gorgeous even with cloudy skies. We stopped at the Red Lion while visiting Cromer and had a thoroughly enjoyable restaurant meal. The asparagus and wild garlic soup was good, though a shade too salty for me because I’m particularly sensitive to salt. Five stars, and I’d happily return.

The breakfast each morning was perfect, with lots to choose from, and the staff were attentive to everything we needed. We spent two nights in the billiard suite, which was spacious, lovely and well laid out, and made use of the luxurious roll top bath. Dogs are very welcome, though we left our two at home because we wanted a break on our own. I’d highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

We’ve visited many times for drinks and dinner, and it remains our favourite place in Cromer. The dining room is beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. There’s an extensive drinks menu, with a very good range and quality of real ale.

We hadn’t been back for years, though it used to be a regular spot for us. We met friends at the Red Lion in Cromer and left really impressed. The dining room layout has improved a lot, and the big window feels much more open now that there’s no table right in front of it. The place was fully booked, which felt like a good sign, and thankfully we’d reserved. Service was spot on, friendly and professional, with great attention to detail. The staff represented the venue really well, and every one of us loved the food. We ordered more than planned, including several drinks each, a sharing grazing board, mains, desserts, coffees and an espresso martini, but it still felt reasonable at around £70 per person. It made for a thoroughly excellent evening. Highly recommend booking.

The sea view from our window-side table was gorgeous, and the staff made us feel right at home. My partner, his Nan and I went for Sunday lunch, and the online booking was quick and simple around noon on the same day. Our preferred 15:30 slot wasn’t free, but the site offered alternatives and we got 15:15. We ordered olives and roasted chorizo to graze on, forest mushroom bruschetta to start, then two fish and chips and a chicken burger. We asked for it all together and waited no more than 25 minutes. The food was phenomenal, really filling and delicious, and we all cleared our plates. I’d recommend it even at these prices. My partner’s one extra tip: “Olives, get the olives”.
