The proprietor was friendly and helpful the whole time. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean, though the place felt very small for four. The spring beds were comfortable. Culgaith is outside the park, but there are good walks about a half-hour drive away.

Pea Top Cottage is a small two-bedroom place in Culgaith, Cumbria, and a handy base for a holiday in the Lakes. It’s run by a lovely couple in what felt like the friendliest village in the UK. You won’t be disappointed.

The welcome pack was lovely, and it’s dog friendly 😊. The owners are warm and helpful if you need anything, while still leaving you to enjoy the cottage in peace. A lovely little place.
