The Fulwich Hotel

Don't let the bad reviews put you off. My friend and I booked this cheap room the night before travelling up to London, and took a chance on checking in early. The lovely woman at the entrance let us into our room. It was a good size and clean throughout, with no complaints from us. There was a decent shower, a fridge, microwave and kettle, plus tea, coffee and towels. A comfortable bed and good value for the money. Dartford Station is a 10 minute walk away, with a shop next door and plenty of decent takeaways nearby.

Our room was cramped, with peeling paint and thick dust on the fan. The curtains didn’t cover the whole window, and the cistern dripped all night. There was even a strange fireplace in the bathroom. Our friends’ room wasn’t much better, and they said it was noisy outside all night on the ground floor. I hate leaving a bad review, but I’d hate for other people to come here and be disappointed too. Whoever owns the hotel might want to sort a few things out. I suppose you get what you pay for.

The first room had no windows and was far too hot. In the second, the TV internet history was a lovely surprise, full of porn. I suppose it’s good for the money.

Good location for town, with a pub and shops nearby. The room was clean and looked recently upgraded, with a decent ensuite. Check-in works through codes they send you. It's a very functional, well-priced hotel, though there’s nowhere to eat or drink on site, no bar or restaurant.
