The atmosphere felt genuinely unsettling, like being on the set of The Hills Have Eyes or Wrong Turn. This place needs a revamp, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone. Avoid it.

We entered our license plate as soon as we arrived, and were told it was all sorted. Two weeks later, though, we got a £100 fine for supposedly not doing exactly what we’d done right after walking in. What’s wrong with this place? Don’t stay here.

I didn’t go into the Inn, and the price seemed a bit high for just turning up. I’ve heard it’s cheaper if you book, which I think an away football fan could do. The location, setting and atmosphere are spot on, and the pub attached to it is why I’m recommending it. I probably shouldn’t say this and should keep it to myself, but I fancied two of the barmaids. Just my opinion, don’t say anything. Everyone I met did our town proud. Being the first stop off the M65 matters, and the staff sold Blackburn effortlessly, though not only because I’ve got a weakness for stunning ladies. Anyway, sort out the pre-arranged or online price and you’re in for a treat, even if your team loses. You’ll be in a better position.

The Premier Inn was set back from the roads, so it was nice and quiet. Our bed was comfortable, and we slept well for both nights. The rooms were clean, tidy and well cared for, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Recommended.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Mould in the rooms meant I was moved through three different rooms over two nights. They tried to deny there was mould in the third one, but I could see it and have photos as evidence. I did get a refund for one night and a complimentary breakfast, but that doesn’t make up for sleeping in a mouldy room. Because of my health conditions, I can’t smell the cleaning product they used on the mould, so I had to wait in the car park for three hours while it evaporated. The staff handled things very well, but I don’t think this hotel is suitable for a stay.
