Peter was really friendly and accommodating, and the place was clean and comfortable for our long weekend. It’s well placed for major roads and popular places to visit. My two Bernese Mountain Dogs came along and loved it. I’d recommend staying here, and I love the peacock themes.

We couldn’t finish the continental breakfast, there was so much of it, and the choice and quality were fantastic. Our room was huge and had a lovely view. Peter was a wonderful host and let us drop our bags early, so we could stay with the wedding party. We were there for one night after a nearby wedding, in a lovely old farmhouse with lots of quirky character. The winding, steep stairs and the noise and animals from the working farm might bother some people, but we found they added to the charm.

A peaceful countryside stay, with dining nearby and Kedleston and Derby easy to reach. The room was lovely and very clean.

We only wished we'd booked more nights. The countryside setting was so quiet and peaceful, though it’s just 10 minutes from the city centre, and there’s a good, reasonably priced restaurant less than a five-minute walk away. We booked it as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The Host was amazing and happy to help with anything, and the beautiful property was very well kept. Our room was immaculate. Thanks for a gorgeous weekend, we’ll definitely be back! xx

On our third visit to Mackworth House Farm, Peter was just as welcoming as before. He made check-in quick and was there for any questions. We had a spacious, clean and tidy room overlooking the garden, and plenty of breakfast choices. There’s also a lovely pub a short way off for dinner or drinks. Highly recommend if you're staying in or around the Peak District.
