I was there for a week on a course. The meal deal was good value, and the food was good quality. The room was fine, though a few spots could have used some repairs. The staff were very friendly.

The staff at breakfast and dinner were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the food was good as expected. The kitchen team worked hard to keep every option available in such a large hotel. The bed was really comfortable, and the curtains closed well enough, though it was winter so I can’t say if they’d be enough in summer. The room itself was dirty, and we had to ask several times for the soap to be refilled. The windows don’t open, the extractor fan wasn’t working, and condensation covered the windows and pooled on the sills. Parking at the NCP and walking over and down the road a little is a good option, and it’s really not far. The river is beautiful, but the town didn’t feel safe for women on their own after dark. We were approached several times and asked for loose change.

It was always lovely coming back to the bar after performing at the theatre and being greeted by the staff’s warm smiles. George, working the bar in the evenings, deserves a special mention for his friendly service and great attitude. The manager also went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and felt welcome throughout our stay. Thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable visit. ☺️

For the price, this is a great hotel. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. You can park outside for free until 8 in the morning, or use a secure car park about five minutes away for a small fee. There was a strong smell of cannabis around the hotel entrance, which stood out. Recommended.
