Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands Airport

We had a lovely stay and the staff gave us such a warm welcome. Everyone was friendly, helpful and patient. Big thanks to Korley and Alice for looking after us with drinks at the bar. It really makes a difference to meet such lovely people. Thanks so much.

The front desk left me with a poor first impression, even though the hotel itself may be fine. I was told there couldn't be an upgrade because the sofa bed had already been made up. After I asked about it, the explanation shifted to upgrades needing to be “pre-requested”. Then, when I politely challenged that, I was told the hotel was full, despite rooms still appearing available to book online at the time. I know a complimentary upgrade isn't guaranteed. My concern was the changing explanations and dismissive manner, rather than whether a room was available. As a VIP member, I expected a courteous tone, professionalism and clear answers, and didn't get them. Hospitality depends on service, and this fell well short of what I expected.

The rooms are nice and the price is good, but parking costs extra and drinks at the bar are so expensive you’d need a second mortgage. They say loyalty members get discounts and upgrades, but I didn't get either. Don't be taken in by that.

Room service was quick, and the Margherita pizza with chips was absolutely delicious. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained, with helpful staff and great customer service from reception through to room service. The pool and gym are a real bonus, and parking feels secure without being overpriced. Five stars all round, I'd highly recommend it.
