SACO Derby - The Mill House

Inside, the apartment is spacious and modern, with good sized bedrooms, comfortable beds, high-spec en suites and a separate bathroom in the one I stayed in. There's a great kitchen for cooking from scratch, plenty of worktops for takeaway food and a large fridge for groceries, leftovers or drinks. Big windows and a good mix of lamps and other lighting make the place bright. The building is easy to reach but tucked away in a gated complex, so it's quiet, peaceful and secure, with a private car park you can come and go from as you please. Entry to the building is secure too. The area gets busy and lively, especially at night. You're likely to be out enjoying the local bars, but if you stay in to watch a box set in your pyjamas, you'll only hear anything if you leave a window open, like I did. There's also a fantastic shopping centre just minutes away. It's a great place to stay. When I visit Derby to see where my girlfriend grew up, this is where I'd always stay.

The apartments are well made and the assistance was very nice. They're a bit pricey, but close enough to the city centre to make it worthwhile. Just keep in mind there's no lift, and the windows don't do a good job of blocking road noise. Those are the two reasons I'd give it four stars instead of five.

We spent five weekdays here in a clean, spacious two-bedroom unit, and the customer service was great. The kitchen could use a few small repairs. Also, could someone clear all those wine bottles out of the gutters?

We stayed two nights and wished we'd booked longer. The apartment had everything we could need and was clean, with good attention to detail. Even the manager left us a card wishing us a pleasant stay. The staff on the phone were friendly and helpful, and free parking was a nice bonus.
