The steak pie was a particular hit with all of us, and everyone enjoyed their meal. We’d stopped next door to The Staff of Life for the weekend, popped in for a quick drink, then booked a table for the following day. Glad we did, there was a great choice of drinks too. The beer garden was a nice spot to catch some sun, and the staff were really welcoming, especially Jayne. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area.

Plenty of parking, and everything was at a fair price. We stayed one night and had a very comfortable bed, a warm room, and all the facilities we needed. The staff were lovely, helpful and smiley. Good beers too, and breakfast in the morning was great, simple and just what you need.

I first came in for coffee a few weeks back and the food looked good, so I returned for Sunday dinner. The gravy was amazing and the roast potatoes were very good. We’ll be back.

The food was delicious and well prepared, and the pub had a cosy, comfortable feel that worked perfectly for our group of five. We had dinner here twice, with drinks, and the staff were friendly, fun and helpful. We loved the place.

Just the sort of cosy local country pub that works for a midweek treat after work. The food is hearty, lovely and home cooked. Don’t come expecting fine dining or posh, pristine decor.
