We spent two nights here for a weekend break, staying in a very large family room above the main bar. The welcome was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable, though the decor felt dated. Breakfast was lovely and served by friendly staff. It suited what we needed, and we'd stay again.

We only came in for food and a drink, not a stay. The young woman behind the bar was friendly and smiley, but after we ordered, the food still hadn't arrived 45 minutes later. The place was uncomfortable, with loud local drinkers, someone lighting a cigarette before leaving the bar, and men outside spitting and smoking heavily. We just wanted to get out. A terrible experience. Never again.

The bar was clean, the toilets were clean, and drinks were inexpensive. There was a nice atmosphere with a mix of music playing. The staff were friendly and helpful when the kitchen was out of order, telling us where else to get food and saying we could bring some back to eat. Our room was clean and comfortable, just right for what we needed.

Nobody checked whether we were happy with the meal, which was appalling. We’d eaten here just a few weeks earlier, but this Sunday lunch was a huge drop in quality. The vegetables were overboiled, watery and tasteless, and the food was poorly presented with bland gravy. The waitress seemed unsure what she was doing and took payment first, while not listening to anything I said. We won’t be coming back.
