Da Vinci's Hotel Derry

The breakfast was super, with loads of cereal and other options. The pastries were excellent and the full English was complete. The hotel is being renovated, but the service stayed great. It was quite noisy, and we could hear a lot from the next room. A group of young lads were laughing and talking loudly, so at 11pm we rang reception. Staff went straight over, and the lads kept quiet after that. Thanks to both of them for respecting quiet time. Sorry for being a Grinch, but after a long day of exploring, I needed proper sleep before another day out. Totally worth the price. PS, booking directly on their site is cheaper.

The staff were really nice, and breakfast had a good range of food. It's a great spot, just a 5 minute drive from the centre of town. We had to fiddle with the TV a bit to get our prime stick working. The hotel is being refurbished now, so it should be even better next year. Would definitely stay again.

The location was excellent, with plenty of parking and several shops and restaurants within walking distance, including Brunswick moviebowl, about a 10 minute walk away. The bar was a nice place to spend the evening, with live music, a lively crowd, a good atmosphere and a heated smoking area. We had a few check-in issues, but they were sorted quickly, and hotel manager Glenn was helpful and accommodating. Construction was underway, so only double rooms were available. Ours was large and well finished, though the TV was a little small. Breakfast was very good, with cereal, pastries and hot food, plus good strong coffee. We didn't eat in the bar or restaurant otherwise. We travel to Derry quite often and this was one of the better places we've stayed. Looking forward to coming back for a suite once construction is finished.

The breakfast service was excellent, and the food was lovely. Reception staff were very nice and helpful, and getting into the hotel was easy, with plenty of parking. The rooms and hotel were tidy, not dirty at all, and our room was spacious. Still, I'd give the hotel itself 3 stars, even though I'm giving this review 4. We stayed just one night, so the issues didn't matter much to us. Our room cards didn't always work, the third-floor carpet could use replacing, and the furniture and equipment looked a few years old rather than modern. The interior was at a very high standard, but there was no AC in the room.
