Everglades Hotel

We ended up staying in the bar instead of heading into town: there was piano music until 9pm, followed by live entertainment, and the performer was so good we stayed. The bar was busy, but a staff member found us a table and comfortable chairs, and everyone was attentive. We were six women staying on Saturday 21st Feb, and being able to book two triple rooms worked perfectly. Check-in was friendly, the room was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Our one gripe was the lack of handy sockets by the mirror or beside the beds. We had a great weekend, and the friendly staff are a real asset.

Good value, and I’d happily stay again. The staff were great and the food was good. My room was clean and nice, with a very comfortable bed and pillows.

I enjoyed the musician in the lobby, but everything else was terrible, including the food. My room was filthy: there was dirt on the bathroom floor and in the bath, and someone else’s hair was in the shower. The bathrobes had dead skin and pubic hair on them. Even the toilet roll had been left on the dirty floor. For a supposed four-star hotel, they should at least have a toilet roll holder. At check-in they also tried to charge me £81, even though my online booking was £63 without breakfast. They insisted breakfast was part of the booking, despite my explaining that I was leaving at 5am for a flight and wouldn’t be eating it. I refused to pay for it, and the woman serving me only brought the price back to £63 after I pointed out how strange it was to charge for something I wasn’t having. Her customer service was terrible. I stayed for one night in the middle of January and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Don’t stay here unless you have to.

We didn’t want for anything during our stay, thanks to staff who were consistently pleasant and attentive. Finn especially went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make the visit special. Everything looked gleaming and beautifully decorated, from the car park to the bathroom, and the room was just as expected. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. It’s also dog friendly, with a nice walk along the river Foyle right on the doorstep. We had an amazing stay at the Everglades Hotel.
