Travelodge Devizes Hotel

Reception staff were friendly when they welcomed us, and booking in was easy. We reserved two standard double rooms for two nights. Both were clean and functional, with beds I found really comfortable. No crinkly sheets keeping you awake, lol. The room temperature was comfortable, though being next to a busy road might bother some people. The bathroom was clean and functional too. Just two small gripes. The internet was terrible, with only 30 minutes free. It would be great to have it free for 24 hours. Also, the USB connections by the bed didn’t work, though that wasn’t a big deal. More than happy to stay again 👍

This Travelodge is close to Wiltshire Police HQ, with a Subway sandwich shop attached. It’s the usual clean, reasonably priced Travelodge accommodation, with an en-suite toilet and shower. The rooms aren’t large, but they’re ideal for one or two nights in the area. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the centre of Devises, or a 7-minute drive from the main car parks. The views of the main road or local hospice charity shop aren’t inspiring, though you wouldn’t expect them to be. Travelodges are often on the edge of smaller towns, though some are in city centres, and this one is no exception.

Breakfast wasn’t available even though we’d paid for it. When we asked for a refund, they said we’d booked a saver rate. We stayed four days, and one night cost £147, so that didn’t feel like a saver rate. The company is dishonest. Try another hotel or you’ll be disappointed. Don’t let them spoil your trip or leave you out of pocket.

Rebecca was always friendly, helpful and cheerful, a real credit to the company. The room was very clean and tidy, and the beds were so comfortable we had a great night’s sleep. The location was easy to get to, and we had a pleasant stay.
