The drinks were fine, and this could be a lovely pub. It's a shame there's no patio to sit on yet, and the decor feels dated. In an area that clearly has money around, the business isn't doing itself any favours.

The locals were really friendly, and the Otter beers and ciders were excellent and well priced. I was very disappointed to find that the pub is now community run and only open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 6-10pm. You can no longer sit out on the large patio and enjoy those fabulous views of the Dart. I really hope someone buys the place and turns it into a great pub with food.

We came up from the river hoping to find a drink and some cake. Although the woman had finished serving food, she was so helpful and let us buy a loaf cake from her shop, then brought us a knife and plate. We also had a delicious cider from her bar. The decking at the back has fabulous views across the river.

We had a lovely three-night stay, though I’d never stayed somewhere that was a hotel, pub, shop and post office all together before. The freshly cooked food was good, and I’d recommend the Tarte Tatin. Staff and locals were friendly and full of banter, which might not be everyone’s thing. If you like everything just so and want people fussing over you, this probably isn’t the place. For a laid-back, easy-going stay, it’s great. Just be aware there are hills to walk up and down, so it might not suit you if that’s a problem.

We called from the car because we needed to feed the little ones, and they had the food ready when we arrived. They’d got our order exactly right. Two days later we came back and the service was fantastic again, with lovely chatty staff. The Beef Bourginon was delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. We’re waiting on puddings now, and the choices sound yummy. Thank you!
