We had a lovely two-night stay in a beautiful, comfortable room, with gorgeous gardens outside where we saw swallows and goldfinches. The food was amazing, creative, beautifully presented and fascinating, with flavours that blew us away. The staff were friendly and attentive, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a good time at the hotel and in the area. It is an expensive hotel, but the stay felt very special.

The food was exquisite, and the staff really knew their way around allergens and dietary needs. Since I have coeliac disease, I appreciated getting a menu tailored for me. I chose asparagus to start, hispi cabbage for my main and chocolate mousse, and didn't feel I missed out at all. Breakfast was brilliant too. My husband treated me to two nights for my birthday, and the staff knew as soon as we checked in. The room was gorgeous, clean and modern, with beautiful views, a very comfortable bed and thoughtful interior details. The staff were lovely and attentive, the grounds beautiful, and the location great. It's a pricey stay, but I felt it was worth the money. I can't fault the place and hope we get back! :)

The grounds were absolutely stunning, and the location felt secluded while still being a quick drive from Dolgellau. A short walk down the path gets you to a pub at the George III hotel and the walking and biking trail into Dolgellau, about 2 miles each way. My friend and I came from Boston for our first visit to Wales and spent two nights in a junior suite. The manager greeted us warmly, and every member of staff gave us fantastic service. They kindly lit the fire for us each night while we relaxed in the cosy, welcoming lounge. We'd highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the area.

We've felt so relaxed after spending time by the fire near the bar with a nice drink, looking at the Christmas tree. The hotel is beautiful, has a lovely feel, and the clean rooms are decorated so nicely. The whole weekend left us rested and in a festive mood, car trouble included. When our car wouldn't start as we were leaving, Christy was incredibly helpful and patient, and Dan gave us a lift to the train station. All the staff were helpful, service was great, and the food was delicious. We'd really recommend a stay here.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the chef put together a stunning menu. We picked Penmaenucaf Hall Hotel for its dog-friendly policy and they really went out of their way to make our furry friend feel as at home as we did. We booked a week in summer as a special treat after several years without a holiday, and it exceeded our expectations. There was a warm welcome when we arrived, a well-appointed room with a view, and gorgeous grounds in a setting on the southern edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). We'd have no hesitation in coming back.
