The room was clean and nicely decorated, and we had no problems with the kettle, mini fridge or ironing board outside it. It wasn’t as spacious or modern as the four-year-old videos suggested, and there were stains on the toilet seat that wiped off easily, so it didn’t look as if it had been cleaned before we arrived. Otherwise the bathroom was okay, and we slept well with no road noise. The garden was covered in plastic bags, which looked unprofessional at the entrance. We were late on arrival, and the owner’s reaction was extremely rude, with little digs at my partner over a slight miscommunication. We accepted it at the time because of the season and our lateness, and we take responsibility for being late, but it felt like we were being told off. When we rang the bell to leave, she came out in her pyjamas, which felt unprofessional, though I understand the time of year. During small talk I mentioned needing to get my dog’s nails clipped, and she said she’d been going to say that the night before. It was rude and unnecessary, and we felt judged. She’s a little chihuahua who doesn’t file her nails down on walks, so they grow quickly, and they weren’t even that long. I wouldn’t stay again because of the owner’s rudeness. From other negative reviews, it seems she can’t take criticism, and this says a lot about her character.
