We came by boat, and the anchorage and moorings felt safe and comfortable, with unexpectedly good shelter from swell. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was a 10/10. Sharing dinner with the group could have felt awkward, but our host put everyone at ease right away. It turned into a really special, impromptu dinner party. They have rooms too. Highly recommended.
We’re Canadians and arrived in July 2022 on a friend’s boat. I’ve meant to say for ages how outstanding the food and hospitality were. The stag and doe we met on the path back to the dinghy was the highlight. I attached photos from that memorable visit. 😎⛵️⚓️
Getting there only by boat gives this place a bit of magic. A small group of us spent a marvellous week here, walking, eating, drinking and properly relaxing. Rebecca and her team looked after us wonderfully. Absolutely recommend.
For walking and hiking, Doune Knoydart makes a great base. It’s cosy and special, and lets you enjoy Scotland’s beauty without the crowds. Rebecca and her crew were wonderful hosts, though we didn’t get to meet Andrew. Rebecca and Dee made amazing food too. A perfect spot for a calm, relaxed holiday.
Communal dinners and meeting the other guests became one of the best parts of our honeymoon at Doune in May 2025. On the less sunny day, Rebecca even gave us a breadmaking class, so we left with lovely memories and some breads we can try to recreate at home. We were lucky to have two full days of sunshine for hiking, with gorgeous scenery all around. The food was delicious, made with high quality produce, cooked really well and served in generous amounts. Our room had high ceilings, wood panelling and a view over the cove. Rebecca and Gavin took great care of us, and the atmosphere was wonderfully laidback.
