We called ahead to use their car park for a motorhome stopover, but spaces weren't reserved. It was quite full when we got there, though we found a spot. The pub is in a picturesque setting opposite the village green, in a beautiful, quiet village with plenty of places to walk. Food, ales, and service were great, and the staff were very friendly. Dog friendly too.

We've found this gem and come back several times, both to stay and to eat. The food is so good, and those were the best chips we've ever had! Staff are wonderful, and the hotel rooms are great, warm, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. Thank you for the great service.
We stumbled across this place by accident, and all five of us were incredibly happy we did. I didn't stay overnight, just reviewing the pub and food, since the form wouldn't let me specify. The staff were absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cheerful, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about serving us. Food and service were both 10/10. The meals were excellent, portions generous, the meat quality sublime, and the chips incredible. I couldn't recommend it enough for anyone looking for somewhere to eat.
The main things for me were cleanliness and great service, and this place delivers on both. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are wonderful and friendly. There's complimentary continental breakfast in the dining area. We stayed in room 2. It's lovely but basic, which fits the price, and excellent value for money. It has a Sky TV, an en suite, and tea and coffee making facilities. Some people may feel the rooms need modernising, but at this price that would be similar in most places. It's an inn for a weary traveller, rather than a sleek Travelodge with all the bells and whistles. It is a pub, so expect some noise at night, though it dies down pretty quickly. The rooms are fairly well sound insulated when the windows are closed.
We stayed two nights while visiting for a family funeral, and the accommodation was amazing. I had a beautiful, modern room downstairs. The food was amazing too, and everyone, staff and customers alike, was so friendly and helpful. People spoke to us like they already knew us. I'd highly recommend this gorgeous pub and look forward to coming back. Thank you for a great stay during sad circumstances.
