The beds were super comfortable, and the tech was fun to use. We stayed at the Ben Shea Smart Home at the end of our 10 day tour of Scotland, and it made a perfect base for seeing what Speyside has to offer. It was nicely furnished and fully equipped for cooking, relaxing, and sleeping. Top notch all around, and my highest recommendation.

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal each night, and the place was warm and super comfortable, with great central heating and a nice little fireplace. Staying in a smart home was very cool. It’s close to all the “action” in Dufftown, and Glenfiddich is within walking distance too.

Everything in the flat was so well stocked, right down to a hair straightener. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bathrooms were modern and clean, and the beds were comfy. It got quite warm during our weekend, so a fan would’ve been nice, though that was probably an exception. Dufftown is a dead town, but for our whisky tasting trip, the location was perfect.

Our hosts were helpful and informative, and parking was easy. We also used the town’s EV chargers. There are takeaways a minute away and a small supermarket just across the road. The accommodation was incredibly clean and had more facilities than we’ve ever found in self-catering places, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. Dufftown made a great base for exploring the many local distilleries. We went to The Balevnie and The Macallan Estate, both amazing, and the Speyside Cooperage tour was a really interesting family visit. We also saw beautiful Lossiemouth on the coast, took the steam train around Cairngorms national park, and spent a day shopping and sightseeing in Aberdeen. We loved the stay and were all sad to leave after 5 nights. We’ll aim to come back.

We loved staying at the Ben Shea home in Dufftown. Our lovely host’s recommendations led us to enjoy a dram by the fire. It’s a very comfortable base for the whisky trail or the northern coast towards Inverness, and the CoOp right across the street is handy. Cheers!
