Cairndale Hotel & Spa

The Steak burger was packed with flavour, and the chips were honestly the best I’ve ever had. The Cairndale Hotel itself felt fresh and vibrant, with a clean, modern look and a really nice atmosphere. Service was spot on, friendly and professional, and the staff made us feel welcome and were genuinely helpful. We’ll come back with my wife to try the award winning spa. Thank you!

The staff were lovely and the food was delicious, but the room we were given was still very dated, even though we’d been told we were upgraded. Spa access also came at an extra charge. I’ve stayed at spa hotels around the world and have never had to pay separately for access, only for treatments. The charge was in the details, worded cleverly and placed further down the confirmation. After I posted a TripAdvisor review before leaving, the manager waited until two women were checking out to berate me, shout at me and make fun of me in front of the staff. He made it personal, which was completely unprofessional. God help the staff who have to work for this supercilious man.

The spa facilities were outstanding and, honestly, good value once we’d tried them, though we initially thought the extra £50 per person for two hours was steep. Hotel guests also have specific time restrictions for access. Breakfast had a decent selection and set us up well, but better coffee options, like cappuccinos, would improve it. We had a fantastic one night stay, mostly thanks to the service from start to finish. Reception, spa and bar staff all went above and beyond, and the bar is a lovely place to relax. We were checked in early without asking and got a complimentary room upgrade. The room felt a bit dated and the shower was quite poor, but Netflix on the TV was a nice modern touch. Despite those room issues, the service and spa made it a wonderful stay.

Alex and Assan, the wedding coordinators, were so helpful. As the bride, I didn’t have to worry because they took care of everything with a smile. We got married here on 15/4/26 and can’t fault the place. The staff were kind, attentive and always smiling, and the food was amazing. The honeymoon suite was beautiful, absolutely perfect.
